As part of the new qualifications, learners will have the opportunity to tailor their learning to their job role. Specific dementia qualifications have been developed at level 2 and 3 for continuing professional development (CPD). The following dementia qualifications will be available to learners in September 2010:
- Level 2 Award Awareness of Dementia
- Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care
- Level 3 Award Awareness of Dementia
- Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care
As part of the new Health and Social Care (HSC) Diplomas at Level 2 and 3 there will also be an option to take a specialist dementia pathway, which will allow learners to further tailor their learning. Learners will be able to accumulate credit from units completed units as stipulated within the rules of combination. This will be available from January 2011.
